What is Aerobica?

Aerobica is a community designed with two objectives in mind:

  1. Establish a lifestyle of movement
  2. Maintain a lifestyle of movement

Today, we've created online experiences: aerobica app and on social media (Connect With Us). Tomorrow, we intend to develop IRL.

Who's it for?

We develop features for three personas:

  • The Untrained — the last time this group had regular movement was probably in high school during gym/p.e.
  • The Detrained — this group has adopted a routine at least once; they've just been on an extended hiatus (for reasons).
  • The Trained —  this group is currently moving regularly.

What they all have in common is that they have a desire to move. They might initially be motivated for various reasons, but we hope you eventually find movements you love, make you feel good, and perform for the rest of your life.

Backstory

Having spent many years in the fitness and fitness-adjacent industries, Achilles had been thinking about what kind of online experience he wanted to create. He tried a few different apps with social components to it, and felt something was missing.

People were getting left out on all the fun of the various leaderboards out there. Most had required a high-level of fitness, and there wasn't an metric that factored in diversity of movement.

While ideating he had also been training for a marathon and he'd sustained a couple pivotal injuries:

  1. The first was a calf injury that forced him to switch up his programming to incorporate Zone 2 running. He had learned about the significance of zones and thresholds, and this got him thinking: "I think there's something here".
  2. The second was a clavicle fracture that took him out of training for a few weeks. He was bummed, but insisted on it being an opportunity, so he got to work on what at the time was referred to as Aerobic Development Project (hence the namesake). This was the catalyst for starting on a deliverable.

4. User Eligibility

While Aerobica has no explicit age restrictions, please be aware that our social features may connect users of all ages. We encourage parental supervision for minors participating in groups or interacting with adult users.
5. Account Registration and Data Responsibility

    Account Setup: Users must provide accurate and complete information when registering (including email address, display name, etc.).
    User Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

    Fitness Data Disclaimer: While we rely on data from Apple Health Kit and similar services, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of this information. Use it at your own risk.
    User-Generated Content: Content shared in social fitness features (groups and leaderboards) is provided by users and does not necessarily reflect the views or accuracy endorsed by the Company. We disclaim any liability for inaccuracies or issues arising from such content.

7. Intellectual Property

All content and materials provided in the App are the intellectual property of Then LLC or its licensors. Unauthorized use or reproduction of the content may violate applicable intellectual property laws.
8. Governing Law and Legal Compliance

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. By using the App, you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts located in California for any disputes that may arise.
