Our Privacy Promise

Your practice is yours alone. ThenCommit is designed to keep your commitment data private, storing everything on your device by default. We collect only the minimum information necessary to deliver the app and optional premium features.

What We Collect

Information You Provide

• Commitment Data: Your commitments, completion records, and notes are stored locally on your device.
• Premium Purchases: When you subscribe, Apple handles payment processing. We receive a transaction identifier but never see your payment details.

Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Basic device type and iOS version for app compatibility (collected by Apple, not us).
• Crash Reports: Anonymous crash data through Apple’s standard crash reporting (opt-in via iOS Settings).

What We Don’t Collect

• Personal identifiers (name, email, phone)
• Location data
• Behavioral analytics or tracking
• Third-party advertising identifiers
• Health or fitness data
• Contact lists or social graphs

How We Use Information

Core App Functionality

• Store your commitment data locally on your device.
• Enable iCloud sync between your devices (Premium feature, optional).
• Process premium subscription status through RevenueCat.

Support & Improvement

• Respond to support requests you initiate via email.
• Fix bugs reported through crash reports.
• Ensure app compatibility with iOS updates.

Data Storage & Security

Local-First Architecture

• All commitment data lives on your device using on-device storage (e.g., Apple UserDefaults or a local database).
• No ThenCommit servers store your personal practice data.
• Data persists through app updates but is removed upon app deletion.

iCloud Sync (Premium, Optional)

• Uses Apple’s encrypted iCloud infrastructure.
• Syncs only between devices signed into your Apple ID.
• You control this through iOS Settings > Apple ID > iCloud.
• We cannot access your iCloud data.

Data Export

• Export your full commitment history anytime via Settings.
• Generated locally without server involvement.
• Provided in machine-readable JSON so you always own your data.

Third-Party Services

RevenueCat

• Processes subscription management.
• Stores an anonymous customer identifier.
• We don’t receive personal payment information.

Apple Services

• App Store: Handles app distribution.
• StoreKit: Processes payments.
• iCloud: Optional sync for premium users.

We don’t use analytics platforms, advertising networks, or social media SDKs.

Your Privacy Rights

Universal Rights

• Access: Export your data anytime through Settings.
• Deletion: Delete the app to remove all local data.
• Portability: Exports are in machine-readable JSON.
• Opt-out: Choose not to enable iCloud sync.

Regional Rights

• California (CCPA): We do not sell personal information.
• Europe (GDPR): Data remains on your device/iCloud; no profiling occurs.
• Children: ThenCommit isn’t directed at users under 13.

Data Retention

• Local Data: Retained until you delete the app.
• iCloud Data: Managed by your iCloud storage settings.
• Support Emails: Deleted after resolution (max 90 days).
• RevenueCat Records: Anonymous identifiers retained per their policy.

Changes to This Policy

We’ll notify you of material changes through:

• App Store update notes
• In-app announcement (for significant changes)

Continued use after changes indicates acceptance.
